I often work as a 3D generalist for various projects, ranging from early visual concepting of new products and promotion material to final renders for exhibitions and installations.

VR Automotive EV Learning Experience

For a project in collaboration with Accent, Luminus Technical University College in Amman, Jordan and MakeItUnreal I was in charge of the technical production of a prototype for a VR solution targeted at the educational automotive EV market in the Middle East and Northern Africa. We used the Quest 2 platform in combination with Unity to generate an easy to use interface for automotive students that didn’t have access to EV’s to still get familiar with maintaining and repairing them in a virtual environment. For this project I recreated the entire training facility for EV vehicles in 3D and made it navigable through VR. I also recorded sounds of different interactions with the vehicles and created custom textures based on the actual objects in the room. This allowed us to make a virtual recreation of the training space including sound and accurate visuals.

Mark Ijzerman – 3D simulated tubeworm erosion

 

For Mark Ijzerman I developed a system to visualize thousands of tube worms growing over abandoned harbor cranes in a virtual aquarium for his residency STARTS4Water. This system was eventually rendered to be used in Mark’s audio-visual installation presented in V2 Unstable in Rotterdam.
This project required extensive use of Blender’s geometry nodes environment.
